At the stroke of midnight, an old black locomotive thunders out of a fog bank on rails made of mist, accompanied by the whistle-wails of damned souls and a melancholy fiddle tune.
No matter how or why they embark, all who ride the ghost train are bound for the same destination: far from the living realms, to the end of the line. Ready up your one-way ticket, because there’s no coming back from the shadowy land beyond the Shroud.
This is the first chapter of The Crooked Moon, a folk horror campaign book by Avantris Entertainment, adapted for a darkly whimsical one-shot for 3rd Level characters

Bio:
Alan started playing and DMing D&D about eight years ago, and it changed his life. As a lifelong artist and storyteller, TTRPGs checked all the right boxes for creativity, collaboration, and imaginative play. He runs an inclusive table, and is enthusiastic about welcoming new players to the hobby–so it can change their lives too!
As a DM, Alan knows the rules well, but knows when to bend them for the sake of the story. He plans and preps obsessively, but is ready to throw plans out and improvise when things go in different directions. He brings props and battlemaps and visual aids, and can do a few different British accents for NPCs (is it cheating if he’s actually from Britain? Nah…).
What an adventurer must bring:
Dice, a notebook and a pencil. Prebuilt level 3 characters will be provided. Or bring your own level 3 character using point-buy fro ability scores. Characters may include content from The Crooked Moon sourcebook.
