KRISTY Cosplay Official Judge
Kristy aka Kristicles is a Blackfoot cosplayer of more than 10 years based out of Calgary, AB but traditionally known as Mohkinstsis, located in Treaty 7 territory. Kristicles uses her art, cosplay and social media to educate and bring awareness to First Nations issues, and shed light on social justice issues. With a bit of humour and tons of tenacity, she has garnered recognition in both cosplay and public art communities and does not keep her passion for nerd culture and costume making a secret! Her skills in cosplay includes foam crafting, sewing, prop making, makeup, and wig styling. She also has been fortunate in guesting in local conventions and judging cosplay contests, hosting panels and stage appearances, all while having uplifting and educational interactions with con goers. Kristicles represents not just herself as a cosplayer, but also understands the importance of being a representative of her First Nations community. So as a representative in many spaces, she exemplifies professionalism and positivity not only in her cosplay, but also as a professional artist. She continues to showcase her cosplay in tandem with her professional art career, showing it is possible to live and celebrate your passions at any age and in any capacity. You can find her as @Kristiclesgg on most platforms, and see her full cosplay and art portfolio on her website at www.kristiclesgg.ca
Elise Andrucson
ELISE ANDRUCSON Cosplay Official Judge
Through my devotion to joy, I have identified what moves me as an artist and have found myself in this community of burlesque. I’m a first-generation Chinese Canadian and third-generation tailor. I yearned for something a little more fringe, something inspired by old world aesthetics but not ideals. I’m influenced by the iconic misfits throughout history and in the landscape today, I surround myself with those who carry themselves similarity. I tend to live vicariously through these folk- and what better way to honour this than to share my inherited love for fashion design and corset them in my work. Everything I do is collaborative. I draw from performers' ideas and design in a way to elevate their identities and expression. My dynamic use of bold colours, shapes, embellishments and interesting textiles, all became a trademark that some of the best in the industry lust after. Now at the 15 year mark of my work, I am at a place where I want to dive deeply into exploring design around my own identity and supporting the growing BIPOC arts community.
JULIENNE CARROTS Cosplay Official Judge

Julienne runs Carrots Couture, a costuming atelier that specializes in bringing fantastical ideas to life. Her bespoke creations dazzle stages and events across Western Canada, and Julienne’s work was most recently featured on season 4 of Canada’s Drag Race. With a healthy diet of carrots, you can be sure this designer has a keen eye for details. Julienne loves to see concepts that challenge a maker to push the boundaries of their own skills. If you’re looking for some Vitamin A+, consider adding Carrots to your wardrobe’s diet!

  • If your cosplay has won a “Best In” or “First Place” award at a convention of fewer than 10,000 people, you may compete with it in either your skill category (Novice, Journeyman, Masters) or the BEST OF THE BEST competition with that costume.

  • If your cosplay has won three or more “Best In” or “First Place” awards you may only compete in the BEST OF THE BEST category with that costume, regardless of convention size.

  • “Judge’s Choice”, “Honorable Mention”, and non-first placements (second overall, third place journeyman, etc.) do not count toward your numbers of awards won to define your division and eligibility (they are not considered major awards at Game Con Canada).
