Join us for our opening ceremonies as we honour the land in which Game Con Canada Powered By TELUS is hosted. Presented by The Urban Society for Aboriginal Youth (USAY). They are an influential not-for-profit organization in Calgary since 2001. USAY strives to provide essential programming and services to Calgary’s Indigenous youth between the ages of twelve and twenty-nine.
We are honoured to be joined by Blackfoot Elder, Duane Mistaken Chief. Duane Mistaken Chief is the AHS traditional wellness coordinator and counsellor at the Sheldon M. Chumir Health Centre’s Elbow River Healing Lodge in Calgary. He also helped write the book, Blackfoot Ways of Knowing: The Worldview of the Siksikaitsitapi, published in 2004 by the University of Calgary Press

Avatar Generations is a Mobile Hero Collecting RPG taking place in the beloved Avatar: The Last Airbender universe! Players will experience the main story following Aang and the ATLA story with extra details as well as brand new original stories and characters. Through the Timelines activity, you will also be able to experience the stories of other Avatars in the series, starting with Kyoshi!Â
Throughout their journey, players will collect many different characters and variants to help them adventure through the Four Nations. With these characters, Adventure Teams can be formed to travel through different regions experiencing new and expanded stories or fight iconic battles from the series.
Outside of adventuring the Four Nations, there are various activities that can be played to help you acquire many different resources and materials; further upgrading your heroes. Relics and supports designed after key items, world lore, and characters will also be found that can be upgraded and equipped to your heroes for even stronger teams.
Join us for a celebration of all things cosplay! GCC is hosting the largest cash prize cosplay competition in Western Canada live from the Memory Express Mega Stage. Three tiers of competition Novice, Journeyman and Master class all adjudicated by our celebrity cosplay judges. Kinpatsu, Glaszy Kei and Axel Cosplay.Â
In addition to our cosplay competitors, we are proud to announce that GCC is hosting five Alberta Highschools showcasing these talented students and the projects they have created for the competition.Â
